FlexOffice has chosen the Prime Tower location and recently started its fitout. The opening is planned for March 2023. FlexOffice will be located on the 3rd and 4th floor, at the same level as the Hardbrücke with an all-round view of the Uetliberg, the Freitag Tower and the Maag site. “You can’t get more urban in Zurich,” says Andreas Brandl, CEO of FlexOffice. He tells us in an interview what FlexOffice offers, why the Prime Tower location is so important and what the perfect office of the future looks like.
Welcome to the Prime Tower! Please could you introduce FlexOffice briefly?
We are now the biggest provider of flexible workspace offerings in Switzerland. We offer various membership options – basically a workspace subscription for companies of all sizes that want to remain flexible and agile. In addition to workspaces that are ready to move in to, each subscription includes other offers such as the use of over 50 fully equipped meeting rooms throughout Switzerland and many other services related to the office experience.
Why did you choose the Prime Tower as a location?
We plan to expand to around 30 locations in Switzerland over the next three to four years. Top central locations are crucial in our choice of sites. The iconic Prime Tower with its urban location is also one of them.
What do you think are the special qualities of the Prime Tower?
Everyone knows the Prime Tower – and of course it has a certain appeal. More decisive for us, however, is the process of change that is taking place here. The first generation of tenants came mainly from the financial industry and are now being replaced by companies from very different sectors with a different mindset and culture. We want to accompany and support this process of change.
What will the FlexOffice area in the Prime Tower look like?
We are looking forward to filling the space with FlexOffice’s typical business community mix. The two FlexOffice floors will be divided into two types of areas. There are workspaces with offices for small and medium-sized teams, shared meeting rooms and shared spaces such as kitchens and lounges. Then there is also a floor with three so-called corporate workspaces. These are larger spaces of 200 to 300 square metres (ideal for hybrid teams for 30+ employees). If desired, these corporate workspaces can also be combined and marked with their own corporate identity. There will be fully equipped meeting and workshop rooms, of course, which can also be booked by our neighbours in the area.
What does the perfect office of the future look like to you?
For us, the perfect office is more of a system or network of work possibilities. Spatially distributed and with a wide range of options geared to the requirements of the task. For example, a headquarters in the Prime Tower in Zurich, satellite offices in Basel and Geneva and mobile working throughout Switzerland through access to our network of top locations – this is how the companies of tomorrow are already working with FlexOffice today.
