In October 2023, Universal Music Switzerland will move into its new offices at Prime Tower. We have already tested the waters and asked the Managing Director Ivo Sacchi why the label is moving, what makes the Prime Tower location so special and what hit will get us dancing this summer.
Mr Sacchi, could you give us a brief insight into the activities of Universal Music Switzerland?
Universal Music Switzerland is part of the Universal Music Group. At Universal Music Group (UMG), we aim at shaping culture through the power of art. UMG is the global market leader in music entertainment and is active in a variety of areas: from Recorded Music and Music Publishing to Merchandising and Audiovisual Content. UMG boasts the most comprehensive music catalogue in the world, which includes recordings and songs of all genres. The company discovers and develops artists (also in Switzerland), it produces and distributes music of the highest artistic quality and with the greatest commercial success.
You are just a few blocks away. Why did you choose Prime Tower as your new headquarters?
We like it in Kreis 5. However, due to us having to constantly adapt our way of working, we have decided to relocate.
What concept did you choose for your workplace and why?
We have opted for a shared desk concept. Depending on the task, there are various options to find some quiet space. This particularly suits our way of working, as we have to exchange ideas creatively very often (and very quickly).
Are your employees looking forward to anything in particular at the new location?
I guess they appreciate the wide selection of restaurants and excellent train connections.
For you personally, what makes the Prime Tower special as a workplace?
It’s an iconic building featuring, in my opinion, fantastic architecture and a wonderful urban view.
Additional question: what’s the 2023 summer hit?
That’s not an easy question, but we’re betting on Rema with his song “Charm”.
